Happy Valentine’s Day! Today we celebrate love, in the name of Saint Valentine. We all consider February to be the month of love because of this day, which is devoted to love, caring, affection, and romance. Today is the perfect opportunity to confess your love to the person for whom you have special feelings in your heart. It is also the perfect time to show your love to that person by doing something special, something out of the ordinary. The whole week of Valentine’s Day comes with a sense of appreciation, inspiration, and energy for people around the world!
“Love is the emblem of eternity; it confounds all notion of time; effaces all memory of a beginning, all fear of an end.” – Madame de Stael
Being far away from the person you love on this Valentine’s day, can make this day emotionally charged. But we assure you, that there are ways to show your love, affection and share the Valentine’s Day magic. Because let’s not forget that the magic is more about what we feel inside and able being to express that and less about the grand gestures that go along with the emotions. The thought is what truly counts and there’s no right or wrong way to celebrate. Here are some ways to help you feel the love this year, on Valentine’s Day while being away at sea.
Love letters with a twist.
Document all your thoughts and everything you love about your partner and read it to them. This will give them insight into your thoughts and show them how you truly feel about them.
Invest in your future, together.
Use this day as an opportunity to plan on what you’d like to do when you are reunited. Invest in your future together. Make dreams, imagine what it will be like to hold each other again and write down all the things that you look forward to with each other.
Send a video message.
Whether you’re singing and dancing to your song or reading a heartfelt love note, sometimes it can be so much more intimate and lovely for your partner to see you and hear you on screen rather than reading your message themselves.
Create a jar of love notes.
This may be our favorite Valentine’s Day activity. Use two different colored pencils. Use one color to write the physical traits you love about your partner and another color to write about personality traits. Save them all in a box or jar and give it to them next time you see them or mail it to them when you find the opportunity.
“Love is more than a noun – it is a verb; it is more than a feeling – it is caring, sharing, helping, sacrificing.” – William Arthur Ward
We may often think of Valentine’s Day as a day that only couples get to celebrate but it is the perfect opportunity to show your love to anyone special in your life starting with yourself. Self-love, self-care, self-compassion. It may sound selfish and indulgent. But it’s absolutely essential to your mental health and wellbeing. And it doesn’t mean you have to always prioritize your needs over everyone else’s. If anything, having a good relationship with yourself is a selfless act. Because how you treat others is often a reflection of how you treat yourself.
This day is also dedicated to your children, your friends, and your family. Open your heart and express your love to the people you hold near and dear to your heart! Those who brighten up your days, those who make you smile when you simply of them, those who are always supporting you even if they may be miles and miles away. Make this Valentine’s Day a day to remember!
